For now lets see What Roxy has to share with us.

TRA: When did you start playing?

RP: I began playing drums when I was about 14 yrs. old.

TRA: Why the Drums?

RP: My sister Maxine and I wanted to start a rock band, she is a guitarist and my choices were Bass

or Drums. One of the reasons I chose drums I was drawn to the sexy, primal aspect of beating the skins.

TRA: Do you play any other instruments?

RP: Yes, I'm a classically trained Clarinetist. I actually recorded some Clarinet on a

rock/bluegrass instrumental called Swattin Flies in Wanker County with Gina Stile on guitar and

Michael Pisculli on bass. The tune appears on the Vixen Tangerine CD released in 1998

TRA: Do you have a style of playing?

RP: I’m a passionate player who strives to keep rock hard solid time while beating the hell out of my kit.

TRA: How do you think that the music industry has changed over the years?

RP: The industry has changed immensely now with the Internet and TV reality shows.  Bands have

control over their music and all sorts of avenues to be seen and heard however, the flip side is

with all the music sharing groups have to find other creative ways to make money.

TRA: Do you feel that the music industry has changed when it comes to women in

rock?

RP: I don't think gender is an issue anymore and I'd like to think Vixen played some part in

changing the boy's only club sentiment.

TRA: Why do you think your genre of music vixen is in, 80s Rock is

still followed by so many fans?

RP: Rock n Roll forever! The music still stands and the entertainment value from the live

shows is drawing massive crowds.  The 80s generation remembers what a decadent, rock n roll

filled circus the era brought and there’s nothing wrong with celebrating it to the fullest today!

TRA: What do you think you bring to the band? could be personally or musically?

RP: I bring a harder edge musically...and a potty mouth.

TRA: Was there a moment in your life where you just knew it was the drums, That it

was your passion?

RP: As my drumming skills progressed and the more I played, I just fell in love. It's

been a lifetime relationship that's still going strong.

TRA: What does your drum kit consist of?

RP: (2) 22" kick drums, Maple Snare drum, 12" 13" toms, 16" and 18" floor toms. 16" 17" 18" Zildjian

Crash Cymbals, 22" Zildjian Ride, 20" Zildjian China, and a new big 10" Splash!.. can’t forget the Cowbell!

TRA: What are you passionate about?

RP: Music, health and animals.

TRA: WHo are you influences?

RP:Too many to name but here are a few at the top; John Bonham, Bill Ward, Fanny, Lucille Ball.

TRA: What about being a musician are you most passionate about?

RP: Delivering a performance I can be proud of, whether it's live or in the recording studio and

interacting with the fans.

TRA: What do you listen too?

RP: Lately I've been listening to classical music and jazz.  I've been in the studio with Madam X

getting my metal on… my ears, feet and hands need a break.

TRA: What do you think is the Best thing ever given to you by a fan?

RP: Appreciation. The fans and my love of  drumming keep me going.   Ritchie Blackmore gave me

a pretty great compliment, he said, "I enjoy watching you play, You Swing".  I’m all about

laying down a groove and hoping it moves the listener.

TRA: Tell us about your future plans musically?

RP: Hello Cleveland! I plan to keep playing, playing often then play some more.

Stay tuned for new music from Vixen and Madam X coming soon!
