         Hello Iam Kay Starr

Hello  I just figured maybe it was time that i shared my story with anybody who would like to understand why  I do what i do.  Iam Kay, Iam the chick up there in that pic. Iam also the Person who Beleives in and Does this website. So ive been asked before why i do this page and why i choose to back Bassists and Drummers, First off THey Rock. Secondly well that part we will have to go back a few years for.

My love for music started when i was super young probly before i could actually sing, First i started with Dance, I was not able to do dance lessons or any thing so I just watched anything dance i possibly could and created my own dances to all kinds of music, In middle school i did several dances in school talent show and in my gym class we actualy made up a dance to cum on feel the noise and nobody gonna break my stride just for a grade, I made these Dances up and i thought dance would be my thing, Until i went to My Very First Concert in 1986, Poison David lee roth were on the bill. I loved poison soo much but was excited to see david lee roth as well. David lee Roth Came on and I seen these crazy outstanding bass Player, I didnt know who he was but there was something incredible about his playing, So  watched him the whole time, Hearing pretty much nothing but him, He was mesmerizing, That man Billy Sheehan, HIs instrument the bass.

From then on every song i listened to all i could hear were the bass lines and Somehow i became a pro or at least i thought.

Funny how you think you know everything by just listening, i attempted to learn the bass but i had no passion for playing it i just wanted to hear it. It was my passion, hearing and apreciating the bass was where my passion was. I told people about  this band or that, I even helped bring slaughter up in my town and others i was a complete pro at getting peoples music out there, i was young and cute and people wanted to listen to me talk about how great somebody could play and how great there music was. I did this for a while and it was not enough..

This is when i met my mentor, a lady who was actually writing about what she beleived in doing her own newsletter and was getting lots of big names to give her a story.  Eric Singer, Tom Hamilton, BLas Elias, Just to name a few. I went out to meet her and she gave me a shot on the thing she beleived in which was drummers. Her Newsletter was Called D.A.M. (Drummers Are Musicians)  I was SO Excited to do this go out interview these Drummers and I then started not only Listening to Just the bass but Listening to the Drums also and Loving how they worked so wonderfully together.  I didnt get the big Names She Did i think the Biggest i got was Jimmy D from A band called wildside i dont know if you remeber them but they had there moment on mtv years ago. Regardless i still brought alot Of Different and GOod things to her newsletter when sadly it ended and We had to move on from it. But My Passion for supporting the Rhythm Section Never Wavered  and I decided to make something new, We tried another Newsletter, We tried another website and We did get alot of interviews even got an interview with my idol, I was lucky but that too ended. But my love for the rhythm Section has never went away and  neither has the fact that

i feel you all need to know how important you are.  So i continue on mainly by myself but i have alot of people who support me in many ways, and When i feel like this is a waste of time, Make me realise why i do it. Iam Simply a Fan, A Fan of music And my Passion is really more about noticing people and showing them how special they are.  And Thats why i do what i do, Hoping to keep it coming along so other people Can be a fan of yours as well.  Kay Starr
